Cooling System Repairs/Replacement

An engine's cooling system is made up of several parts that allow coolant to flow through the engine block and cylinder head to absorb the unnecessary engine heat. It uses water or coolant to extract the heat from the engine.

The cooling system consists of coolant, thermostat, hoses, water pump, radiator and core plug, and they all work together to prevent the engine from overheating.

The cooling system can fail which can generate different signs. The most common symptoms of failure are:

• low coolant levels or leaking

• engine overheating

• frozen coolant

• colour change of coolant

• engine starting issues

• temperature gauge warning light

It is important to ensure your cooling system is maintained regularly. Changing the components of the system, if needed, will improve the quality of coolant flow.
