Clutch System Repairs/Replacement

You'll definitely know when your clutch components begin to wear beyond reasonable tolerance - you'll start to feel juddering, dragging, possible slipping and sudden leaps forward when using the clutch pedal.

GR Automotive recommends to get any issues addressed as soon as possible to avoid any more damage to other components on your vehicle.

My clutch is juddering - why?

If your clutch is juddering or vibrating, this could be one of many issues with your vehicle. It could mean that you have oil contimation of the clutch facings, warped flywheel, worn or uneven clutch plate or damaged engine mounts.

How do I know if I have a slipping clutch?

If your car is struggling to accelerate quickly or you feel it's straining when driving uphill, this is usually a sign your clutch is slipping. You may also notice a burning smell. These symptoms could lead to poor vehicle performance. Your clutch facings may be contaminated or you may have issues with the clutch springs - these effect the amount of movement to engage/disengage the clutch correctly.

What is a dragging clutch?

Dragging clutch means that you may feel jolting when changing gear whilst driving or not being able to get into gear from neutral without hearing a noise. These can be signs that the clutch is low on clutch fluid or is having difficulty to disengage.
